Johnnie’s Joy is an illustrated social commentary & e-book that connect-the-dots in an overly simple way to help explain the social determinants of health. It tells a story of how the present and past day “system” targets the wellness of marginalized people. It summarizes systemic oppression and the lead up to Project 2025 in a short story format. The author wrote this graphic short story to be a conversational piece, educational tool and play book; written with the intention of easy understanding. This can be read as a community guide or a way to help explain environmental wellness, capitalism, colonization, racism, and more to those needing enlightenment on American injustice and the constant target towards people of color. It briefly summarizes true events, including the many harmful government tactics used to wipe out a race of people only wanting peace, but why? While this story is backed by true American data the injustices are seen globally using different tactics that usually result in the same capitalism standards.
